CHAPTER 1

Author's Pov:

She wasn't the kind of girl people stared at twice.
Not loud. Not invisible.

Just... somewhere in the middle.

The kind of girl who spoke too much when nervous, laughed when she didn't know what to say, and felt too much for her own good.

Aaradhya Sharma never believed in all those dramatic love stories.
She didn't even understand the idea of "feelings" back then.

She was in the 7th grade when she first started going to tuition with her friends, her water bottle hanging from her shoulder, and not a single clue about love

She usually sat beside her friend Nitya, and they'd whisper in the gaps  between lectures,  sharing pens , inside jokes and all the gossip

One day... a new boy walked in

Shy...innocent...quiet eyes

.

.

Reyansh Bedi

.

.

He walked slowly, didn't speak much, and casually took the empty seat beside her. Nothing magical happened... no skipped heartbeat, no butterflies... just silence.

Until he turned slightly toward her and said, in the most casual tone,
"Hello... I'm Reyansh."
That was it. Just a simple hello.
But for some reason, that moment...that voice, that name...stayed.

Days passed, and somehow the three of them her, Nitya, Reyansh became close. They studied together. Laughed between math problems. Argued about homework

And then one day, something changes.

It wasn't his words, it wasn't his touch
It was the way he looked at her, just slightly longer, slightly softer.
And somehow, she noticed

She didn't feel nervous or weird. Infact, she liked it.
She didn't understand what to call that feeling...but it made her quieter around him. She listened more. Observed more. Waited for him to speak, even if she had something to say

She wasn't sure why. She just knew..it felt nice
Warm. Familiar. Different

Sometimes, when she walked through the lanes with her mom buying vegetables, when she walked through the lanes with her mom buying vegetables or just returning from school
she'd see him

He'd be across the street, or walking ahead with a school bag on his shoulder. And every time, her heart would do that tiny jump.
not painful. Not loud
just enough to stay with her the rest of the day.
The next day, she packed her bag for tuition like always, ready to sit beside Nitya and may be sneak a glance or two at him between lessons.

But before she could leave
Her father said, "you're not going to tuition anymore."

No explanation. No warning. Just a decision.

She didn't argue.
Didn't cry.

But when she walked back to her room, the water bottle still swinging from her hand, she realized

She didn't have his number.
