Chapter 7

Author's Pov:

After returning home from college,
she freshened up and ate some snacks made by her mom.
She told her mom everything that happened at school.... except the part about Reyansh talk with Avni.

Later, she finished her academic studies for the day, had dinner with her family, and spent a happy little evening with them.
After dinner, she took her phone, lay down on her bed, and started scrolling.
As she scrolled, her fingers paused on Reyansh's photos.
She couldn't help but smile... and blush.
Her heart quietly replayed his confession.
"I love you."
Just remembering those words made her cheeks heat up all over again.

And then,
Ping.
Her phone lit up.

She thought it was a message from Reyansh.
But when she checked,
it was Avni.

Avni:
"Aaa Aaru! You thought it was Reyansh, righttt? Oh, my poor girl....it's not him, it's ME "
she said in full drama mode.

Aaradhya rolled her eyes, still blushing.
"Ohh stop it, Avni..." she replied, laughing under her breath.

"Still blushing, huh? Aaa Aaru"
Avni teased again, dragging her name playfully.

"Please. I'm just... normal. Don't assume things, Avni,"
Aaradhya said, hiding her smile behind her pillow.

"Ohh stop it, Aaru!"
Avni mimicked her tone and both burst out laughing.
Then Avni asked
"Okay but wait....did you text Reyansh today or not?"

Aaradhya went quiet.
"No, Avni..."

Avni "WHAT? Why not??"

Aaradhya sighed.
"I don't know what to say, yaar... after what happened yesterday... I just blanked out."

Avni's voice softened, but stayed firm.
"At least text him, Aaru. Otherwise, he might think he made you uncomfortable. But here you are.....blushing under your blanket!"

Aaradhya smiled quietly, heart racing.

"Think about it and message him, okay? I'm going to sleep now. You better update me tomorrow morning! I want full details."

Aaradhya laughed.
"Yes, Your Highness. Good night."

Avni
"Good night, my little lover girl"

After Avni's emotional push, Aaradhya finally opened the chat.
Fingers hovering for a second.
Then she typed..

Aaradhya: "Hii."

Five minutes passed.
Then,

Reyansh:
"Hey Aaru... what are you doing? Had dinner?"

She smiled, already feeling lighter.

Aaradhya:
"Yeah Reyansh, I did. What about you?"

Reyansh:
"Yeah Aaru, dinner done."
A typing bubble appeared again a few seconds later.

Reyansh:
"Aaru... did I make you uncomfortable yesterday?"

Her breath caught.
She quickly typed:

Aaradhya:
"No Reyansh, no! Why would you think that?"

Reyansh:
"Thank God, Aaru... I was so nervous. I kept thinking maybe I said too much or made you feel weird. That's why I didn't text first."

She stared at the screen, her heart suddenly aching most sweetly.
She typed:

Aaradhya:
"Trust me, Reyansh. You never made me uncomfortable."

And in her heart, a whisper echoed softly,
"But you did make me feel something."

Aaradhya:
"You just confessed your feelings, Reyansh... what's so wrong about that?"
"It didn't make me uncomfortable."

A few seconds later, his reply came:

Reyansh:
"Yeah... but I still thought maybe you felt awkward. That's all."
"I didn't mean to rush you or anything. I just... wanted to know what you thought about my confession."

Her screen stayed lit for a moment.
His words sat there, quietly waiting.
But she didn't reply.

Not yet.

She read the message once.
Twice.
Then locked her phone and stared at the ceiling.

She knew the answer.
Somewhere deep inside her heart...... it was a quiet, shy, screaming yes.
But she didn't want to just say "yes."
Not like that.
She wanted it to be real. Clear. Something she could mean fully, not just in a rush of blushes and late-night butterflies.

She kept thinking.
How to say it.
When to say it.

And on the other side...
Reyansh stared at her "Seen" notification like it was the end of the world.
He typed....

Reyansh:
"Hey..."
"Hey Aaru??"
"Did I say something wrong?"

But still....
no reply.

Aaradhya wasn't ignoring him.
She was just... feeling everything all at once.

And for the first time, she didn't want to mess this up.

After a long pause, Aaradhya finally picked up her phone again.
She typed slowly:

Aaradhya:
"Reyansh... can I tell you tomorrow?"
"It's almost bedtime, and I just... need a little more time to think."

For a few seconds, there was no reply.
Then,

Reyansh:
"Oh yeah, of course. It's okay, Aaru."
"Take your time. Sleep well."
"Good night."

Her heart softened.
He wasn't pressuring her.
He was just... waiting, patiently.

She smiled at the screen and typed:

Aaradhya:
"Good night, Reyansh🌙"

And this time, she slept.
Not with confusion.
But with a quiet excitement...
Because tomorrow, she knew ,
she was going to say yes.
And say it her way.

Author's Note:

Sometimes... it takes a little time to say something you've felt for a long time.
Not because you're unsure ... but because you want it to feel right.
